In the process of our purchase of furniture, we will certainly hear merchants introduce these boards:
Eco-board, density board, particle board, paint-free board, wood board, particle board, blockboard, medium fiberboard, pine board, baking board ...
Hear the names of these panels are varied, is not a big head, do not know how to pick.
About the types of furniture panels
Common types of boards are divided into: density board, solid wood board, solid wood particle board, finger-joined board, woodworking board, multi-layer solid wood board, WoShangBan board and so on. The panel of the cabinet board includes two parts: the base and the finish. The top several kinds of boards are the base material of the cabinet board.
The advantages and disadvantages of each kind of base material are different, and the scope of use is also different, to give you a brief introduction:
-Density board
Is to wood fibers or other plant fibers as raw materials, construction glue bonding at high temperature and high pressure pressed plate, according to the density is divided into high density board, medium density board, low density board. In the home furnishing operation, medium density board and high density board with the best, commonly used thickness of 12mm, 16mm, 18mm, 20mm.
MDF, easy to process and simple modeling, generally used to do not need to load-bearing panels, such as do not need to load-bearing cabinet or partition.
It is very suitable for door panels with modeling, because the board is pressed tightly enough, carving carved point lines, very suitable for American European rustic style woodwork. The only drawback is that it is not moisture-proof, and it is easy to deform when it is exposed to moisture.
-Particle Board
Particle board is a kind of particle board, solid wood particle board is not solid wood, can be understood as not mixed with other miscellaneous materials particle board.
Advantages: good toughness, resistance to bending, not easy to break, strong nail grip, suitable for load-bearing cabinets, better waterproof than Density Board. Particle board is commonly used to make customized cabinets, closets, shoe cabinets and so on.
-Particleboard
Particleboard is a man-made board that is synthesized under high temperature and pressure using scraps made from wood or other lignocellulosic materials, with the addition of glue.
There are many types of particle board, according to the structure of single-layer particle board, three-layer particle board, gradient structure particle board, oriented particle board and so on. The best raw material for particleboard is coniferous trees, followed by broadleaf trees.
Advantages: cheap, sound insulation, sound absorption. Disadvantages: easy to moisture, easy to deformation, easy to burst edge, not easy to process.
-Multi-layer solid wood panel
Multi-layer solid wood panels are made of three or more layers of veneer or thin boards of wood glued and hot pressed. Plywood is generally divided into 3% board, 5% board, 9% board, 12% board, 15% board and 18% board six specifications (1% is 1mm).
Multi-layer solid wood panels, with small variations, high strength, good intrinsic quality (small holes after cutting and sawing, no delamination), good flatness, multi-layer solid wood panels with good structural stability, not easy to deform. Due to longitudinal and transverse gluing, high temperature and high pressure, the deformation defects of solid wood panels are solved from the aspect of internal stress. In the production process, the use of self-made high-quality environmental protection glue, so that the formaldehyde emission limit of the product meets the national standard requirements, green and environmentally friendly.
-Woodworking Board
Woodworking board, also known as the “core board” is made of two pieces of veneer in the middle of the glue splicing board and become, the middle of the board is made of high-quality natural wood, heat treatment, processed into a certain specification of the wood strip, by the splicing machine splicing and become. The spliced boards are covered with two layers of high-quality veneer on each side, and then glued and pressed by cold and hot presses.
Advantages: high strength, with a firm, sound-absorbing, adiabatic and other characteristics, and moisture content is not high, easy to process, inexpensive commonly used in the renovation of the bottom of the grass-roots level to use.
Disadvantages: some small brands of factories in the production of splicing often cut corners, the amount of glue is relatively large glue quality is poor, splicing solid wood strips, large gaps, no nail grip at the cavity, moisture resistance is poor; internal longitudinal splicing, so the vertical bending strength is poor, coupled with the density of the plate is not the same, long time use of the plate is easy to deform under the force.
-Fingerboard/Integrated board
Finger-joined boards are also known as laminated boards, laminated timber. Directly processed into a “finger” shape, and then add glue bonded into the plate.
Finger-joined board and large core board, compared with the amount of glue is less, relatively environmentally friendly.
-Grain board
Grain board is based on crop straw as the main raw material, applying MDI glue and functional additives, made by high temperature and high pressure, it is not only flat and smooth, structural uniformity and symmetry, solid surface, with good dimensional stability, high strength, environmental protection, fire retardant and good weathering and other characteristics.
